MATH 

Math needs to be filled with rich real life learning tasks, collaborative work, problem based learning,  and direct instruction.  My job is to help students to work independently as well as in small groups, to think through complex mathematics by making a plan, investigating, being able to elaborate and explain learning, and finally to build their confidence as math learners.

 

UNIT ONE - PATTERNS AND ALGEBRA

  • I can determine a pattern rule to make a prediction about the next elements.

  • I can express a given problem as an equation in which the letter variable is used to represent an unknown number.

  • I can solve problems involving single-variable, one-step equations with whole number coefficients and whole number solutions.

  • I can use patterns to describe the world and to solve problems.

  • I can represent algebraic expressions in multiple ways.
